About this page
This is a generic name picker. The starter lines — Jordan, Riley, Avery, and the rest — are placeholders so the wheel can spin before you paste a real list. Replace them. ChanceKit does not claim those are your students, and it does not use another site's brand name for this tool. Each remaining line is one equal slice. Spin chooses an index with Web Crypto and turns the disc to that slice. Remove winner if the next pick should exclude the person you just called. The list stays in local storage on this device only. It is not uploaded with the spin. If you need groups instead of one name, use the team splitter. If you need a yes or a no, use the two-label wheel or the yes/no button.

Questions
Is this the same product as other name-wheel sites?
No. Those are other publishers with their own names, lists, and accounts. ChanceKit is a separate utility. Use it under the ChanceKit name. Do not present a screenshot of this page as if it were a different brand. The picker is the generic idea: equal slices, your text, a fresh draw.
How should I paste a list?
One person per line. Delete the example names first so a placeholder cannot win. Extra blank lines are ignored. If two students share a name, add a last initial so the result is unambiguous. Duplicates without an initial are two slices.
Will the names be uploaded?
The spin does not send the list to a ChanceKit account, because there is no account. The browser stores it locally. A shared computer keeps the list for the next person unless you clear it. Use the privacy page button, or delete the lines, when the roster should not linger on a classroom machine.
How do I spin again without the winner?
Press Remove winner, then Spin. That is sampling without replacement. The probabilities change because the list changed. If you leave the name in, the next spin can choose them again. Say which rule you are using before the first spin.
Can I share the list with a link?
Not in this version. Copy result shares the winning name and the page address, not the full roster. The next person who opens the link gets the example list or whatever is already stored in their own browser. Paste the roster on the device that will do the spinning.
What if the class wants teams instead?
Open random teams. That tool shuffles the same kind of name list and deals it into a number of groups. A wheel picks one slice. A shuffle assigns everyone. They answer different questions.
What makes a name list fair on this page?
One person, one line, no placeholders left in the box, and a rule stated before the spin. Example names are only there so the wheel is not empty on a first visit. If Jordan is still in the list, Jordan can win. Delete the examples when you paste a roster. Initials beat duplicate first names. The remove-winner button is how you avoid calling the same person twice. Leaving them in is how you allow it. Both are fair if you said which one you were doing.
